Wisdom is a stat that describes the depth of knowledge that a character possesses and their capability with sorcery.

Appearances[edit]

King's Field III[edit]

The wisdom stat serves two functions in the game, with the first being how quickly the Magic Gauge refills after a spell is cast. Prince Lyle's proficiency in the five elemental schools of magic does have an influence on how quickly the gauge refills, but it takes several dozen points in any category for the effect to be noticeable. Wisdom, on the other hand, has a considerable influence on the gauge and can shave several seconds off of the process once the stat is maxed out.

The second function of the stat is to allow Prince Lyle to understand the nature of items and equipment when using the guide feature. The more rare and valuable an object is, the higher the wisdom stat will need to be for the guide feature to display it's properties.

Wisdom does not grow when Lyle levels up like the Strength stat does; instead he must consume wise fruits to sharpen his wits, and these are found throughout the kingdom of Verdite. One is hidden in the Forest of Varde from a path accessible from Ralugo village, one is found in Ralugo through the passageway to the Path of Poison, another is in Cason village, and the final one is in the Valley of Garan. Consuming all four fruits raises Lyle's wisdom to 5, the highest rank possible.
